INTERNATIONAL WEEK

International Week is a total blast.

Each group learns about a country, draws their flag, plays games typical from their country and they even make tasty food morsels to share.

As global citizens, this is a great way for the students to be exposed to lots of cultures, foods, songs and experiences. International week was first introduced in 2005 and is now one of our most popular weeks at Camp Doodles. Please be sure to register early for this exciting, interesting week. Merci beaucoup! Dunke Schon! Gracias!

MONDAY:
Techno Ball:
2nd - 6th graders have the opportunity to learn and play the Camp Doodles "underground game", Techno Ball. Our multi-purpose room is decked out with a DJ light system and...we can't tell you more!

TUESDAY:
DRESS-UP DAY: THE WORLD / INTERNATIONAL
Think about something worldly...international. It could be a unique clothing style, it could be a team jersey...it could even be colors (yes, red, white & blue counts!). Could be rugby-esque...could be safari style. You name it - and come up with a story - and it'll work just fine. :-)

Ice Cream Day (~1:30pm - 3:45pm)

Who can resist a delicious ice cream in the middle of the summer - we sure won't! Tuesday afternoon marks our hike to a local Ice Cream Store where we will tempt our taste buds with delectable ice cream flavors.

We leave in small groups after lunch, so please give yourself extra time if you need to pick your child up between 1:30 and 3:45, when all groups will be back on site for our daily slideshow.

If you need to pick your child up early, we are happy to *try* to get them back for you.

WEDNESDAY:
2th - 6th Grade Field Trip: Click here for details.

Bike or RAZOR Scooter DAY (always optional)
Any camper who has a bike or scooter (aka "razor") is welcome to bring it in for an afternoon of biking/skooting around at camp. Remember, if you bring a bike/scooter you MUST remember to bring a helmet. You may want to label your belongings. Sometimes older campers get to ride off campus (only if they have a bike). When you come onto campus, please walk your bike/scooter.

Capture The Flag:
Need we say more!? Our big grassy field is calling…what’s your strategy going to be?

Karaoke Party:
It doesn’t matter if you sound like Hannah Montana or not, because Karaoke is a time for people to come together and have fun singing the songs they know. If you have a song you particularly like, feel free to bring a copy of the CD to camp in case we don’t have that particular one (just remember to take it at the end of the day). Our karaoke machine is hooked up to a screen so you can read the words as you sign along. Very cool! Very fun!

THURSDAY:
INTERNATIONAL DAY:
International Day will be a celebration of different cultures with games, art, food and more. We will likely ask for parent participation to make it our favorite.

DOODLES OLYMPICS:
You've had the whole school-year to train...today is "doodles olympics" and you and your group will be ready for the fun!

FRIDAY:
FIELD TRIP: 2nd-6th Grade. Click here for details.

CIT / StAFF LIPSYNC

New to Summer 2010, the Counselors-In-Training and Junior Counselors (and perhaps some paid staff) will perform a lipsync during morning assembly...a great way to start the day.

AWARDS CEREMONY:
Every Friday afternoon, just before checkout is our Awards Ceremony. Our staff give out numerous awards to their campers ranging from "Good Listener" to "Great Camp Attitude" and "Sunscreen Award" to "Spirit Award". This is an event that the campers won't want to miss! o
