LUAU WEEK

This week the children will build an entire carnival from scratch. Each group, with their counselor, is responsible for deciding which booth they want to create...from face painting to pie throwing and from bobbing for apples to "fishing".

The campers will have an opportunity to lead their groups carnival activity/booth and participate in the other great booths and activities. A perfect balance of work & play!

This week is a LOT of fun, and has sold out consistently for the past eight years. Please plan on attending at least Monday - Thursday to get the most of this great experience.

MONDAY:
Techno Ball:
2nd - 6th graders have the opportunity to learn and play the Camp Doodles "underground game", Techno Ball. Our multi-purpose room is decked out with a DJ light system and...we can't tell you more!

Nature Hike:

Come join us for a walk where we will admire our beautiful community.

Sign up to help make our LUAU a success:

Monday afternoon we will have a big sign-up list asking for parental involvement in order to make our LUAU as big of a success as possible. We couldn’t do it without you! Please look for this list and sign up if you can.

TUESDAY:

Ice Cream Day (~1:30pm - 3:45pm)

Who can resist a delicious ice cream in the middle of the summer - we sure won't! Tuesday afternoon marks our hike to a local Ice Cream Store where we will tempt our taste buds with delectable ice cream flavors.

We leave in small groups after lunch, so please give yourself extra time if you need to pick your child up between 1:30 and 3:45, when all groups will be back on site for our daily slideshow.

If you need to pick your child up early, we are happy to *try* to get them back for you.

TIE DYE: (washing instructions)
We will be supplying the t-shirts today ("LUAU - You Know") which we hope you will wash and wear on Thursday.

BINGO for Prizes
:

No signing "Bingo was his name-o" - pull out the prize drawers, grab a bingo card and lets get ready for some fun!

WEDNESDAY:
Final Booth Preparations:

Today is a very important day for campers who have been helping to create a LUAU booth with their group. Today is the “test run” where we put the finishing touches on our booth. Don’t miss this day!

Camper Catch Counselor:
Camper Catch Counselor is an activity similar to hide and seek. The counselors hide on campus and the children try to find them.

Karaoke Party:
It doesn’t matter if you sound like Hannah Montana or not, because Karaoke is a time for people to come together and have fun singing the songs they know. If you have a song you particularly like, feel free to bring a copy of the CD to camp in case we don’t have that particular one (just remember to take it at the end of the day). Our karaoke machine is hooked up to a screen so you can read the words as you sign along. Very cool! Very fun!

THURSDAY: LUAUUCarnival Day!!
LUAU Carnival Today:

Today is the carnival that we have been preparing for all week. The campers will take turns running their grade booth and experiencing all of the other amazing activities that our LUAU will offer. From carnivals to sno-cones and dunk tanks to cake walks, this is a day that is always remembered!

Bring Supplies:

If you signed up to help bring supplies for this important day, please bring them this morning. We always need small prizes to put into our prize boxes to give away at the carnival.

Dress Up Day:

Wear your LUAU shirt.
If you didn’t get one on Tuesday for tye-dye, we should have some extras at camp.

FRIDAY:

FIELD TRIP: 2nd-6th Grade. Click here for details.

CIT / StAFF LIPSYNC

New to Summer 2010, the Counselors-In-Training and Junior Counselors (and perhaps some paid staff) will perform a lipsync during morning assembly...a great way to start the day.

AWARDS CEREMONY:
Every Friday afternoon, just before checkout is our Awards Ceremony. Our staff give out numerous awards to their campers ranging from "Good Listener" to "Great Camp Attitude" and "Sunscreen Award" to "Spirit Award". This is an event that the campers won't want to miss!
