PIRATE WEEK

Ahoy their maties, Pirate Week is finally here. What becomes of this week depends on how many skulls you can spark with imagination, including your own. Don't be a dull skull. The seas the limit if you want it to be!

Back by popular request (wow it sure was fun last year, our first year doing it!), we have increased our wardobe, heard about more treasure (thanks Captain Blackpatch) and are ready to continue the fun we started!

The theme of this week is an old time Pirate Ship. Dressed as pirates, damsels & naval officers, children can build ships, have sea battles between the pirates and navy, search for treasures and sting songs of the days on the raging seas. With ships and treasures and costumes with swords, the theme can roll across the playground sea under the briskly flying "Jolly Roger".

Hope you are ready to have fun, because we are going to have a blast.

MONDAY:
Techno Ball:
2nd - 6th graders have the opportunity to learn and play the Camp Doodles "underground game", Techno Ball. Our multi-purpose room is decked out with a DJ light system and...we can't tell you more!

Chess Championships:
If you are a chess player, today is your day to shine. We will have the opportunity to play and learn the art of chess.
Nature Hike
Come join us for a walk along Richardson Bay where we will admire our beautiful community while gazing out over the bay to San Francisco.

Eye patches & mustaches for all!

TUESDAY:

Dress Up Day: Pirate
Today is a day where you can dress up like a pirate, a parrot or anything else that reminds you of pirates! You could come as a treasure chest if you wanted!

Ice Cream Day (~1:30pm - 3:45pm) BLIMEY - ICE CREAM ON THE POOP DECK!

Who can resist a delicious ice cream in the middle of the summer - we sure won't! Tuesday afternoon marks our hike to a local Ice Cream Store where we will tempt our taste buds with delectable ice cream flavors.

We leave in small groups after lunch, so please give yourself extra time if you need to pick your child up between 1:30 and 3:45, when all groups will be back on site for our daily slideshow.

If you need to pick your child up early, we are happy to *try* to get them back for you.

Annual Egg Drop:
Do you think you have what it takes to create a really padded, soft environment for a raw egg!?
Today we will open up our supply cabinets so that any interested campers can attempt to create a "safe" container for a precious egg...and then watch as we drop your container (with a raw egg inside!) from the roof of the school.

Past containers have included balloons, Styrofoam, shirts and more...
Come give it a try!

WEDNESDAY:
FIELD TRIP: (4th-6th Grades). Click here for details.

Camper Catch Counselor: SHIVER ME TIMBERS!

Camper Catch Counselor is an activity similar to hide and seek. The counselors hide on campus and the children try to find them.

Karaoke Party:
It doesn’t matter if you sound like Hannah Montana or not, because Karaoke is a time for people to come together and have fun singing the songs they know. If you have a song you particularly like, feel free to bring a copy of the CD to camp in case we don’t have that particular one (just remember to take it at the end of the day). Our karaoke machine is hooked up to a screen so you can read the words as you sign along. Very cool! Very fun!

BIKE DAY:

Bring a bike and helmet. Older campers may go on a ride off campus. Please, not scooters!

THURSDAY:

CAPTURE THE BOOTY

Alternate activities will be available for children who do not want to participate or if Mother Nature did not receive our memo regarding water day. However, we recommend that all children bring the items listed below as the fun is often contagious!
