WESTERN / WILD WILD WEST WEEK

Pull out those cowboy hats, spurs, lasso, jeans...whatever! We're going to ride all over this summer! From pin-the-tail on the donkey to a hoe-down, we're bringing life back to the West.

Hope you are ready to have fun, because we are going to have a blast!

Western Girls

MONDAY:
Techno Ball:
2nd - 6th graders have the opportunity to learn and play the Camp Doodles "underground game", Techno Ball. Our multi-purpose room is decked out with a DJ light system and...we can't tell you more!

Chess Championships::
If you are a chess player, today is your day to shine. We will have the opportunity to play and learn the art of chess.

Capture The Flag
Need we say more!? Our big grassy field is calling…what’s your strategy going to be?

TUESDAY:
Dress Up Day: Wild Wild West
Dust of your cowboy hat, throw on a pair of jeans, scrounge for that bandanna and come down to the Doodles Saloon for some fun!

Ice Cream Day (~1:30pm - 3:45pm)

Who can resist a delicious ice cream in the middle of the summer - we sure won't! Tuesday afternoon marks our hike to a local Ice Cream Store where we will tempt our taste buds with delectable ice cream flavors.

We leave in small groups after lunch, so please give yourself extra time if you need to pick your child up between 1:30 and 3:45, when all groups will be back on site for our daily slideshow.

If you need to pick your child up early, we are happy to *try* to get them back for you.

BINGO for Prizes
:
No signing "Bingo was his name-o" - pull out the prize drawers, grab a bingo card and lets get ready for some fun!

WEDNESDAY:

FIELD TRIP: (4th-6th Grades). Click here for details.

Bike Rodeo (WESTERN WEEK):
Like most camp activities, your child can decide whether he/she wants to participate.

Root through the garage, dust of the helmet and bring your bike down to campus for our Bike Rodeo. Look out for cacti as you do some barrel racing, lassoing and more all over our vast countryside (playground), Be sure to stop often at the watering hole for some of our special Rodeo Juice!

Please leave clearly marked bike and helmet outside, near the handball/slaughter backboards. Bikes will not be brought inside the building, so please be sure to pick your bike up at the end of the day!

K-1st: Ride around on campus ("razor scooters" okay)

2nd-3rd: Bike trip off campus, probably down the bike path and side streets.
4th-6th: Off campus trip perhaps. Mainly bike paths like always.

All bikers must wear a HELMET and older kids should bring a water bottle for the off-campus trips. Campers participating in the off-campus trips need a bike, NOT A SCOOTER/RAZOR!
Please leave clearly marked bike and helmet outside, near the handball/slaughter backboards. Bikes will not be brought inside the building, so please be sure to pick your bike up at the end of the day!

Karaoke Party:
It doesn’t matter if you sound like Hannah Montana or not, because Karaoke is a time for people to come together and have fun singing the songs they know. If you have a song you particularly like, feel free to bring a copy of the CD to camp in case we don’t have that particular one (just remember to take it at the end of the day). Our karaoke machine is hooked up to a screen so you can read the words as you sign along. Very cool! Very fun!

THURSDAY:

Wacky Water Day:
APPROXIMATE TIME: 1:30pm - 3:00
LOCATION: On Campus
Wacky Water Day is finally here! Water Day is a day to look forward to! Water Days are filled with fun activities ranging from massive water slides to water balloon tosses and games like "splish splish splash" to just running around and being silly in the sprinkler.
Alternate activities will be available for children who do not want to participate or if Mother Nature did not receive our memo regarding water day. However, we recommend that all children bring the items listed below as the fun is often contagious!
TO BRING: A swimsuit (under clothes is preferable), towel and wear sunscreen.
OPTIONAL: Water shoes, a change of clothes, a water pistol.

WATER PISTOL RULES:
Water pistols okay during this time. They should be clearly marked with your child's name and kept in their bags until explicit permission is given by the camp staff to take them out. When permission is given, the camp staff will cordone off a specific area OUTSIDE where water pistols can be used. Anyone using them outside of this area will be asked to return their equipment to their bags and find another activity.
Before arriving at camp, please discuss with your child that the rules regarding water pistols at our camp so everyone can enjoy this fun day, staff included! :-)

CIT / StAFF LIPSYNC

Dress Up Day: Crazy Hair / Hat Day

Paint the hair, use rubber-bands for spikes, strong gel...do whatever it takes to make your hair look crazy.

You may also want to create a "Crazy Hat" and bring this in.

Don't worry - our craft project will cover all those who don't have time! We also usually have hair color, gel, rubber bands and more to make your child's hair crazy! If you do not want your child's hair to get crazy, PLEASE be sure to let them know and perhaps mark off on their nametag "no crazy hair" as a signal to our staff.

AWARDS CEREMONY:
Every Friday afternoon, just before checkout is our Awards Ceremony. Our staff give out numerous awards to their campers ranging from "Good Listener" to "Great Camp Attitude" and "Sunscreen Award" to "Spirit Award".
